There is something that I realized recently which was a huge wake-up moment for me and I really think that it may help you too. Have you ever been frustrated before that nothing ever seemed to work out in your favor? Or that you thought you were doing the right thing to make the changes necessary but it still wasn’t happening for you?
By now we may have all heard the “if nothing changes then nothing changes”but what does that really mean?
Recently, Kenzie and I were talking and realized not only our actions are important but also the people that you talk to, the music that you listen to, the places that you go, and the books that you read.
The inputs in our lives that we listen to on a daily basis truly shape our reality, our perception, and our thoughts. We are constantly engaged in some sort of environment that has triggers causing us to act and think in certain ways.
This means that in order for us to truly take control of our lives, actions, and thoughts we have to start to take control of the things that we’re surrounding ourselves with, listening to and reading.
This year we have taken on a book challenge and it has already had an incredible impact on our day-to-day activities. Kenzie plans to read 24 books this year and I am going to read 52! We encourage you to adapt even just one positive habit that if you are consistent with it will change the course of your life.
Reading a couple pages a day, listening to an audiobook, or listening to a podcast is the best place to start!
We wanted to share some of our favorites we’ve read recently!
1. Get Off Your “But” – Sean Stephenson
2. Will Power Doesn’t Work – Ben Hardy
3. The War Of Art – Steven Pressfield
1. Girl Wash Your Face – Rachel Hollis
2. I’m Fine…And Other Lies – Whitney Cummings
These are just a few of the books we recommend to start to implement positive reminders into your daily practice.
