How did you sleep last night?
Plenty of good, restful sleep is SO important!
When you don’t sleep enough, every area of your life is affected, especially the transformation you’re looking to make.
When we don’t sleep we stress our bodies.
A body under stress produces a stress hormone called cortisol. Once this is secreted, our body goes into survival mode, making it extremely hard to make progress on our health and weight goals.
Our body is wired to protect us and survive at all costs.
It will hoard any body fat we have, making it very difficult to reach our goals.
So, what should we do?
Make sure you get a solid 6-8 hours a night, feed your body the right nutrients, and practice self-care!
Here are a few helpful tips to get a good night’s rest:
- Turn off electronics 30 minutes before going to sleep and place them in a separate room. Try reading instead to relax your brain!
- Turn out the lights and create a dark environment.
- Turn down the thermostat! Keep it cool—around 65 degrees.
