Yes, but guess what?
We all have them.
The reality is that if we don’t address them, nothing changes.
Why do we make excuses?
Is it because we truly can’t do something, OR is it the thought that makes us uncomfortable, uncertain, or brings pain?
What if I try and I fail?
Will people laugh at me?
Will I look dumb?
I’m not old enough.
I’m too old.
I don’t have enough time.
I’m not smart enough.
If you only knew how similar we all are!
If you only knew that these thoughts just weren’t true.
They make us feel safe. They give us the feeling of certainty that meets our human needs.
We believe these thoughts that have been around for thousands of years. They are not ours!
We have simply chosen to believe they are why we can’t accomplish something.
How about telling ourselves a new story?
What if lack of money wasn’t a reason to NOT start that business, but rather a reason TO start it?
What if being out of shape wasn’t a reason to NOT sign up for that challenge or race, but rather a reason TO sign up?
Change your story. Change your life.
We can do anything we want in life. We have just been programmed to believe that we’re not capable.
