STOP SUMO DIETING!
People have different opinions about this & we are by no means saying that this is the answer for EVERYONE!
BUT for most people, this is a MUST.
You need to eat breakfast.
Did you know that professional sumo wrestlers start out with very low body fat, but the Japanese have learned how to master the art of growing humans into 500-pound beasts?
How do they do it?
First, they skip breakfast.
Then, they train on an empty stomach to stress the body producing more cortisol.
Then, they wait until the afternoon to eat a huge meal before taking a nap.
After that, they repeat similar patterns of eating and sleeping.
Now, look at our typical day for most of us…
We wake up, grab a cup of coffee, skip breakfast and rush to work.
We are faced with triggers that stress us out and raise cortisol.
Plus, the stimulants we use to stay awake release more cortisol, storing body fat while in survival mode.
Then we work, work, work until lunch when we gorge our bodies with some convenience food.
After lunch it’s more work, more stress, and then home to the couch.
But wait, let’s sneak one more big meal in there again before bed.
Essentially, we get caught up doing the same “SUMO” routine and we don’t even know it!
So what to do?
- Eat breakfast. “Break-the-fast” from not eating while asleep. This reduces stress hormones and jump-starts your metabolism from its lack of work overnight.
- Eat within 30 minutes of waking to rev up your metabolism and prime your body for success!
